Portfolio Design

Before I started creating my website I had to design it - I decided to do this on paper. I began by creating a mind map of what pages I would need and how they would link.

Mind map

I also wrote some "rules" I would like my website to follow to give a clearer idea of how it should look

Rules

As you can see from the rules the index page would also contain the about, portfolio and contact sections the disadvantages of this would be longer loading times for the first page, however I liked the idea of all the information necessary being available from the home page. (Also it gave me an excuse to use the scroll-to internal anchor links which I think looks cool)

Page one Page two Page three Page four

I then drew how I wanted each section of the index page to look, this included a 100% lander picture of the Clifton suspension bridge in Bristol. I chose this because it would grab the viewer's attention and it also displays where I'm located.
